Mother's day card Jackie made for mother #2

Same sort of design as the card before but she changed it up a bit with this one and the flowers.  There is a lot of work in that card. Come to a class and find out.

Mother's Day card

Jackie made this card by using a punch for the tiny flowers.  She coloured the background paper and stamped and colour the butterfly.  It is a beautiful card in person.

Peony and diamond bridal bouquet

This bridal bouquet consist of off white roses and pink peony. It has rhinestone shapes through out the bouquet. I am just in the beginning stages of making it but thought I would share.  Custom orders welcome.

Tail tutu, or train on tutu

This tutu tail is for a 5 yr. old girl. I ordered it from Audrey for my granddaughter.   My granddaughter loves rainbows and always asks me to make her a rainbow hat.  If you are interested in tutu tails or tutu's with a train let me know and I will connect you with Audrey Kim Dittrick who is on Facebook.

Girls out partying with their tutu tails

Designer Audrey Kim Dittrick designed these tutu tails for some girls to wear at Shambalaw in Alberta a year ago.  She has made another tutu with just a short front then the bustle in the back. Wouldn't these tutu tales be fun to wear out for a party with  wedding party wearing colours of the wedding and the bride wearing white.

This is a baby size 0-3 month hat. It comes in other colours and sizes.  Funky Charlie May Designs is my business where I sell things I make

Paper flower with rhinestones.

Different paper flowers. I put my favorite rhinestone collection in the flowers to show them off.  These diecuts are from the Cricut art Philosphy catridge exclusive to Close to my heart.  If you purchase this cartridge yo will have tons of things you can make. The flower especially are great.  What girl doesn't like a little bling..

Paper flowers

Finally pictures of the flowers we made. The red with pearl and white with pearl are boutonnieres for men.  I put a pin on them to just pin on the jacket.  We were playing around. The top right flower that is red was a mistake. I had a ivory flower I had inked with green at the bottom. I accidently dropped some of the top colour that I had from washing my sponge. I think ended up inking the rest of the flower and it looks like a strawberry close up.  The large red one is kind of a Gerbra daisy with out the proper center.  Different shapped roses with different colours and inked with different colours to see the results. The one on the right that looks brown is actually purple brown.  It can be made into a pinecone also.

Diamond Barettes so easy to DIY

http://www.flaxandtwine.com/2012/02/girls-diy-diamond-barettes-year-of.html

Girls DIY Diamond Barettes - a year of handmade gift

These are the easiest and fastest little barrettes you ever will make–but they are so darling!  Who doesn't want to wear diamonds in their hair!

I almost didn't do a tutorial for these because they seemed so simple. But, I figure the tutorial might encourage some new maker to give it a go, or inspire others to make something easy and quick. The barrettes make a great addition to any gift you might be giving a little girl in your life. Or, it would be fun to make an entire collection barrettes, each with a different sparkly trim. I actually originally made these barrettes for the 24 days of glam collection, but replaced them with something else at the last minute. I think they knew they were needed to complete Lily's little birthday package.  And now its done, the monogram bracelet, the pearl combs and the barrettes together make up the jewelry set I made for my 9 year-old niece.
The entire gift for Lily is part of my a year of handmade gift series.  Click the photo below for tutorials to make all the things I've given this year–all handmade gifts all year long!
Below is the tutorial for the barrettes.  The next gift on my schedule is for my 6 year old nephew.  Oh, and some Valentine's Day gifts for the kiddos.  So keep your eyes out for what's coming up next!  Make a few of these to fill a heart for your valentine!
Materials:
Glue gun
Barrettes (found in jewelry section at craft store)
plastic crystal/rhinestone trim
Plug glue gun in to warm up. Measure out length of trim to fit each barrette and cut.
Apply glue to back of trim.
Press trim to barrette quickly before the glue has set.
Repeat with the second barrette and finis!
Happy February to everyone.  The year is already cruising by!  Hope folks are enjoying some happy snowy days!
